Recently we were lucky enough to take on an intern from the Coder Academy. Joseph Meagalli was enrolled in a course that focuses on teaching students how to code and prepares them for the real world. Jo has completed a 6month fast-track course and is super excited to be applying his skills with Cloud Assess. This 60 second interview helps us get to know Jo a little more:
1. Tell us about your career to date:
I previously came from a labouring background and wanted a change in career so I thought I would take up a 6-month coding boot camp with Coder Academy.
2. What inspires you about the Vocational Education and Training sector?
To be able to gain industry skills. As I have come from a VET program at the Coder Academy, I feel more people should be able to learn in their own way.
Computers have been a part my whole life and as such I really love coding. It can be super tough at times, but this is the path I would love to take. Learning in this field will never end as it is such an innovative industry.4. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I am very interested in Japan and have travelled there multiple times. Perhaps one day I may even work there…
At the moment I’m quite enjoying going to the gym as I need to get fit and healthy! Travelling is my passion though :)
6. What is your personal philosophy?
Be true to yourself and others. The reason I say this is because at the end of the day, the only person you are hurting is yourself if you are not true to yourself.
Online assessment to me is the future! To be able to work outside the class environment online anywhere anytime is amazing.
8. Tell us something that might surprise us about you:
I have travelled quite a bit to Japan. One time, when I was in a place called Hakone, I was able to experience eating a hard-boiled egg that was cooked on the side of a volcano where the sulphur made the shell go black.
9. What's your favourite feature in cloud assess?
All of the User profiles. It’s amazing how the solution works exactly how each user needs it to.
10. What’s the best thing about working for cloud assess?
Every morning I arrive excited to learn more about code in the Cloud Assess environment. I love the chilled out atmosphere within the company as everyone is so friendly and polite.
We want to say thank you to Joseph for his hard work and are wishing him all the best for his future career as a developer.
